Open EMR for Android

Hi Team

I was just wondering when the android openemr client would be functional.

Some of the links posted on the above page don’t seem to be active.

Thanks
D

It seems to be dead. Here’s the thread about it - you might just look at the last page:

I don’t think the approach of trying to adapt to the existing GUI was very workable. It seems worth asking, what is the most important thing for an Android app to do? Focus on that first, get it working with a dedicated GUI, and grow from there.

An even more basic question: is it more important to have such an app for patients or for doctors?

If there is enough willingness and kindness for “the Developer” and he/she is willing to make an App, to me it make sense to develop two App’s. One App for the USER/Provider and to me it looks more or less similar and has to handle the same easy(??? approach) to make an App for the Patient Portal.

The Focus points of Rod are important for a start and document the work in progress.

For me as a general Physician making house calls it would be a solution to have something available during the visits next to Demographics and History on my Android phone. Something as Rx and Lab tests would also be very handy, but might be difficult since they need a registered digital Signature. These requests to further Rx and Lab-test should include delivering this info to the Lab an Pharmacy.

The CMS-portal seems to be more appropriate for e-Mail exchange than for an App but can also be included in a clever App for the patient.
