That’s already done, isn’t it? We’ve been sending the NPI in proxymed.pl for a little while now.
sunsetsystems wrote on Friday, April 27, 2007:
Well then it would be nice if someone checked in the code. There’s no mention of NPI in proxymed.pl in the CVS repository.

Is it also in the others? X12 Standard…? Or should does the proxymed.pl fully comply with standard X12 and can it be used for just about any insurance company?
Thanks
Alfonso

There should really be just one .pl script for X12 837p claims. x12.pl and standard.pl are already identical, and can surely be tweaked to take care of whatever is special in proxymed.pl. And again, nobody has been maintaining proxymed.pl – it has not been updated in CVS since 2005.

It hasn’t? I guess I was only updating my local copy. You’re right though, there should be only one (assuming that they all just use standard X12) I believe proxymed uses standard X12, I test my changes through the HIPAA desk compliance tool and it works with proxymed. I’ll update CVS with my version of proxymed.

Can I suggest the following. If we are to reduce the number of scripts to a single standard one, can we have a test one as well? The only difference between the test one and a production one would be a T or a P.
Thanks
Alfonso

You can make a minor change to interface/billing/billing_process.php to set the T or P, and some other parameters that your clearinghouse may require. These should eventually be moved to the X12 Partners settings.

I am on OpenEMR V2.7.3.
I am going to finally, bite the bullet, and going to update to the latest version.
Can someone help me how I should go about updating to the latest, I think I have to
go through the intermediate versions and update version to version ? Just want to make
sure.
Thanks,
balu Raman
