Please use the Github issue tracker / Github projects over Sourceforge for discussion and issue tracking.
A bunch of us have been using Github for issues ( Issues · openemr/openemr · GitHub ) and Github projects ( 5.0.0 Release · GitHub and Backend Modernization · GitHub ). It has been working great.
Note that Github does not replace http://www.open-emr.org/wiki/index.php/Active_Projects - it is supplementary.

People tend to use issues as threads. There are many open source projects that operate in this way using Github, Bitbucket, etc.
We can even go as far as having labels like “discussion”, “question”, “suggestion”, “meta”, etc.
