Next Production Release?

Guys;

You have all done a masterful job of enhancing the value of OpenEMR, but it is largely tied up in CVS version, which 3.0.0 demonstrated we want to test more completely before actual release.

So any idea when we will freeze development, release a pre-production 3.1.0 (or however it will be defined) with all the new bells and whistles, and do debug for actual production release?

It is clear from the forums that the language translator capability is a HUGE advantage we will have in the EMR world, as evidenced by the multi-cultural inputs to the forums.  I am not sure how a Chinese national will actually deal in those forums ;-)  But you need not even leave the shores of the USA to find people who would prefer to work in other languages than english.  So I think at least SOME capability along that line is essential for that pre-release.  And I believe we need to brag about it when we do as an advantage in the CCHIT battle.

And thanks for taking so many of my ideas for usability to heart.  You make me proud.  :wink:

hey,

Still at least a couple more months for internationalization stuff to be up to snuff. Now undergoing the arduous of sweeping through all the code to ensure works well with translation and without translation.  Pretty involved to say the least.

Joe, …

(and others involved in the decision departments)

ideaman… this must be one of your many  ideas. Not a bad idea for an early Monday morning. I have some thoughts about this new release…:

Translations department is far from ready for a new release. We have traveled a rough road towards a new system and do have something in place that might give a new impulse for Multi-Linguistic use of OpenEMR. To view the results,  (incredible improvement compared to V 3.0.0), use the dummyUTB translation in the demo version.

My own translation in Dutch is almost complete for the Definitions, but is not jet released as official !

There are some translation issues to be solved. More important: 100% fill of definitions doesn’t make it 100% correct!

Translations with less than 50% of the definitions for one language are not to be used as partly finished, unless we can produce some kind of system where used translation definitions for OpenEMR can be sorted in order of importance of files. These files should be linked to translation definitions, to be sure that some parts, better said, the view of certain OpenEMR webpages show complete translated screens. Main screen translations should always be NUMBER ONE for translators to make a start. What you see in your own language of preference should at least cover the main screen and the menu choices. Most of the time Front desk and Administration have in general different language capabilities as they have different permissions in OpenEMR . Financial department and Medical professionals also have different approaches while working with OpenEMR and their needs should be shown in some kind of translation importance for the files they use.

(From the progress in Language translation Spreadsheet, enthousiastic translations ares usually stopped for a while before 30% is reached.)

Befor any new release is possible, the "Growth Chart Department" should be very happy with the end result! Physicians working with growing clients, this is a real professional improvement.

What else is underway for the Practitioner/Provider that shows improvement for the USER? Is it all released as "sound and save" for the general "USER" ?

Is there any improvement undertaken towards better medication handling? Interactions, generics, multi usage comes to mind.

Can the Calendar be improved towards a calendar with "who is on call", not just a day ahead but also for a longer period with holidays and weekend duties?
