Hi Todd-
The fact that it works at all tells me that the data flow is working between SureScripts and NewCrop --and therefore your OpenEMR since you’re looking at a NewCrop screen in your OEMR. And in fact I sent out a bulletin to our NewCrop customers yesterday saying that NewCrop says they had found a bug that had been preventing it from working up to now, and we’ve had reports from the field that it does indeed work now.

If it’s only working 5% I believe that the issue is probably one of accurate data: SureScripts requires 6 – count them 6 data points to be precise matches in all ways for it to find the med hx in their database:

  • First name
  • last name
  • DOB
  • sex
  • state
  • zip code

If even one character is off it will not match.
And it just occurred to me that another angle on this is that if the pt’s record in the office they were going to when the med was ordered did not have all 6 demogs correct SureScripts would not find that order in its database.

Hmm- HT

Hi Harley,

Thanks for the response. I was unaware of the message bulletin. I will review the demographics to ensure they are complete and accurate and report back. Ive had success before but was perplexed with the lack of imports when going to production on a larger scale.

Todd

Sure, and this whole thing is really confusing- NewCrop said they’d fixed it then a provider came back with it doing the same old thing but I’m not certain his situation is not different…
Anyway am discussing this with NewCrop.
