I guess a new version is pending right? Being the end of the month and all. I believe the current CVS version is rc1.

Yes it seems about time. I can help perhaps later this week or over the weekend.

OK, 3 months later…
This weekend I really do expect to package up a 2.7.3-rc1, and a corresponding FreeB, and put it on Sourceforge for download.
So if you have anything ready to check in, today would be good.

I checked in the e-mailer and a phone list print to the batchcom,
I will start with the translation, but won’t check it until next week

We are due.
I was hoping to here from Johan about where he stands with the language support.
sunsetsystems wrote on Friday, October 21, 2005:
What would you guys think of calling it 2.8.0-rc1?

andres_paglayan wrote on Friday, October 21, 2005:
I think it will be ok to call it 2.8-rc1 with the language support in it.

If language support is imminent, I will hold off for a few days until you are ready.

Sorry for my silence - been educating on a course for interventional pain therapy this week.
As I said in the other thread: I think the testing that is needed is that you check that language support doesn’t destroy the other functions in openEMR. Since I need to go through every file (more or less) the risk is that I make a small misstake and get a bug that I don’t see on my system but you get disturbed of (with your computers set up for english language and american keyboards and fonts)
If you test it OK by only changing in the file lang.php then you should be able to include it and I start work with the other files/functions.

I have released OpenEMR 2.7.3-rc1 and FreeB 0.11-rc1, based on CVS as of today.
Yet to do: documenting the many changes, and press announcements.

andres_paglayan wrote on Friday, October 28, 2005:
Thank you Rod,
If you give me a word for each change you plugged I can document a little.
anyone up for the announcements?
sunsetsystems wrote on Friday, October 28, 2005:
Here’s one way to get a crude summary of the changes since 2.7.2:
cvs log | egrep -A 1 ‘2005/(06|07|08|09|10)’
If you are able to work on the changelog today or tomorrow, please let me know. That will be needed before a press release can be prepared. I can do the press release and would like to have it ready by early Monday.
Thanks,

I loaded the changelog with the output,
although some of the logs are not very descriptive.
sunsetsystems wrote on Friday, October 28, 2005:
Thanks Andres. I have reworked this to include the filenames.

I have now added summary-level SourceForge change logs to the new OpenEMR and FreeB file releases. You can see them by clicking on the Release Notes icons in the project summary page.

Looks like we are not there yet with language support. But consider the list of improvements even without that:
Would you still object to a bump to 2.8.0?

andres_paglayan wrote on Tuesday, November 01, 2005:
the list is impressive, who did all that?
I will say is worth 2.8

So has anyone tried rc1 (OpenEMR and/or FreeB)? I’d like to know of any successes or problems, for final release planning. Thanks!
