I feel a report of the sort Daily Summary of a Facility will be helpful to get to know of oveall funcitoning of a Facility.
This may be defined as follows:
Report selection parameters:
Start Date, End Date, Facilities (select from dropdown)
Date Facility # of Scheduled # of Visited # of New Total Amount # of Patients
Patients Patients Patients Paid $ visited Labs
Totals
By default the current date’s data will be displayed and user can choose the date range and other filters as defined above.
This can be included as a menu item under Reports or a Button can be placed at the top for the user to click and generate the report.
Please let me know your views on this. Please post any queries on this report.
After submitting the Post, I noticed that, the format got changed and it is difficult to read. For better clarity on the features, I have put together the report format in an excel file and attaching here. Please let me know if you ahve any queries.
You have a good start with Appt-Encounter report . Add facility as a selection and put changes in totals section. That gives user an option to view details. Alternatively there are some reports in financials section as well.
The amounts will work for cash transactions. For payor / insurance situations, amounts will not be available until Fee Sheet / billing is completed. Further, those would be billed amounts. You may need to add paid amount and balance columns if the report is to be run for date range exceeding payment cycle.
Welcome to the project! I look forward to your contributions.
For a daily summary charges will be more useful than payments.
Agree that the Appointments and Encounters report is a good start, as that is also primarily intended as a daily summary and can identify problems needing attention. One approach would be to make that more flexible so it suits your needs.
Thank you MD Support and Rod for your quick review and feedback. I will incorporate changes suggested and provide an updated format for final review.
Rod, I would like to understand from you whether I can go ahead with this report development and complete it.
It’s open source so you can create whatever you want. But if your question is whether it will be accepted into the project’s code base, there are three main considerations:
Is it useful to the community?
Does it play nice with the existing code, design, licensing etc.?
Does it survive code review?
So, can’t answer that until there is more to look at.
Thanks for your reply. It makes sense to have the conditions you mentioned for acceptance of the code. Points 2 and 3 are developer dependent. Developers have to ensure that they follow the guidelines and point 1 is something that requires acceptance. I will go ahead and develop this reprot and submit the code for review.
Thanks for your help.
