Hi there! I am just beginning to work in the developer field, and my first client is asking me to assist her with this program. She runs a medical billing & coding facility and has switched over to this practice management software. Basically, she wants to know if I can edit this program to involve certain features and possibly manipulate the appearance on it. Is there any place someone can to direct me to on how to get started on this? Also, is OpenEmr able to save the changes that I make to it as a developer? I see that the demo resets at midnight, how can I avoid this? Possibly going beyond the demo I guess you can say. Any help is appreciated!
sure, you’ll want to install your own copy somewhere so you can have a test environment, http://www.open-emr.org/wiki/index.php/OpenEMR_Downloads
and then checkout your own code by forking github.com/openemr
