Need help setting up openEMR system for non-US country

I’ve been living in Tanzania since 2006 and have recently been in contact with a doctor who has a brand new clinic/dispensary. My plan was to offer a system for patient administration and pharmacy inventory and thought openEMR would be perfect. I have zero medical knowledge (but have been using Linux since 1995) and I was hoping just showing everything to the doctor would be all I needed to do; however this is not the case. Some of the fields (i.e. insurance) will never be used here and some of the terminology used is confusing. I have everything needed to setup a system at the doctor’s hospital but I am not prepared to teach how to use openEMR. They will be having a front desk admissions and taking vitals, dispensary / pharmacy that would be in charge of inventory, and 3 doctors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hi @John_Wiggins, you can start to configure your local install through Admin->Globals and investigate the Appearance and Features categories

I adapted OpenEMR to use in Spanish-speaking countries without major trouble. Health systems are similar everywhere, names are different but can be edited. You need a list of your difficulties and maybe we can help you solve them.
