Hi,
This is for OpenEMR 3.2 wamp install on a windows 2003 server that has been running for over a year now.
We have a billing date issue that shows up when we are in the encounter form and placing the dates of service into the encounter form. The Doctor’s staff wanted to be able to put in a date range for each successive day the patient was seen instead of having to create an encounter for each day. So, essentially fill in the encounter form once for multiple days.
I noticted that “to date” is still not populating correctly when it is different from the “from date”. For example if a patient was seen in hospital for follow up on 3/1 & 3/2, I enter “from date” 3/1/2011 and “to date” 3/2/2011 with CPT x 2 units. All data is uploaded correctly to Payerpath except the “to date” which shows 3/1/11. This is rejecting on the remittance vouchers as invalid dates for units billed. I then have to fix it in payerpath & resend claim to get it paid correctly. I normally enter multiple dates & multiple units when applicable…it saves time with the charge entry process AND the insurance carriers will pay charges when they’re entered that way. How can this be fixed?
Also, one of the errors on the Upload Detail Report was new. States Rendering NPI required. Populating on electronic claim as first name EAST, last name MARK for office echos. Call me when you get a chance to discuss possible options to correct this issue.
This code was modified by Chris Lucina’s team per the request of the Doctor. However, the code still has problems. I have gone back to Chris serveral times asking that the code be reviewed and they don’t have to the time fix the code issue.
Just from a laymans point of view, it seems as though there is a calculation issue in the “from date of service” and “to date of service” being intered into the system that spans more than one day. If the from and to dates are the same day the form works as it was orignally intended. If the code is to parce the date and calculate how many 24 hour periods were entered into the system then make the appropriate enteries into the database. It is missing the mark in doing so. That is what seems to be happening. However, I don’t know enough about the modification that were done to work out what was done.
Any pointers in this area would be of great help. I can read and follow some points just by reading the code but I am not a deep enough programmer yet to know all the ins and outs.
Thanks in advance for your attention and help!!
