In general ‘500 internal server error’ can happen becuase of any of the following reasons:

  • .htaccess configuration issue
  • php coding timing out
  • coding error in script

In your case, Try doing the following change in apache/httpd.conf file

   #LoadModule rewrite_module 
      modules/mod_rewrite.so
   #LoadModule headers_module 
      modules/mod_headers.so

Remove the’#’ symbols from above code , save restart apache and try again to see this resolves the issue.
