VPN configuration.

We assume that no firewall is blocking the connection.

are you windows or linux?

not to regress but could the isp have a firewall that is out of your control?

are you able to telnet into the host with the openvpn port # ?

I have following questions which need to be answered.

  1. How to install openVPN on server. i.e which folder & how?
  2. Right now as per document shared you I am trying to install openVPN on windows laptop. Even after successful installation of openVPN i m not able to see right screens. Kindly check attached doc once for more details.
  3. Is there any other work around by which I can make it work with out openVPN or how to do with this

Comparing the 2 sets of documents, it appears that you should stay in the Access tab for the entire setup.

Per Eldho’s instructions, step 2 would have you choose “local file” & click “import”. Step 3 said that win-client.ovpn should appear in Windows Explorer.

Unless an icon for the file appears under the Access tab, there will be no connection despite successful install of the client.

agreed with your suggestion fsgl… but I am not see those screens (Image 1 & 3 for yours) . Any how now I am able to connect via openvpn using the config file shared by zhhealthcare. Kindly check attached screenshot it clearly shows i am connected to VPN still i m not able to access zhhealthcare patient portal. Why i can’t see those screens (Image 1 & 3 for yours)…

Still my one question is unanswered can any one reply on this. Do i need to do some change or setup in server as well to make it work. FYI I am hosting OPENEMR on godaddy in case any change/installation required on server how to do that kindly guide me.

Guys please help me to resolve this issue.

Hi,

There is no connection established to mydocsportal.com. There is no reply
for pinging to your server. If you are using shared hosting there may not
be enough privileges . Is you are hosting on cloud server with admin
privileges?
Also please check whether windows firewall is blocking this connection.

Regards
Eldho

Assuming:

  1. You have the same administrator privilege as if OpenEMR is unhosted.
  2. You made an exception to the Windows firewall in all possible places.
  3. GoDaddy does not have a firewall for your account.
Try uninstall & re-install of OpenVPN. Any sighting of 1.png?

Things are complicated by hosting OpenEMR. Consider calling GoDaddy Support for more suggestions or reading through their Help pages.

I am having the exact same issue as Vikrant.

It appears as though OpenVPN is no longer packaged in to a Desktop Client (d/t Heartbleed security vulnerability), and the previous download page redirects to a different program version–which makes some of the previous image based setup tutorials no longer valid.

I too am able to correctly install the new version of OpenVPN, but am unable to connect it to OpenEMR. I have the same error even with my firewall disabled.

Have you made any headway on this Vikrant?

  1. Are you on 4.1.2 & patched at least to 2?
  2. Have you registered with ZH?
  3. If Linux, see this.
  4. If Windows, just downloaded from this page without difficulty or re-direct.
  5. Which operating system?
  6. Hosted?
