I was wondering if there was a rule to know what will be displayed in the top pane vs. the bottom one? Sometimes I see the schedule displayed in both top and bottom at the same time!
Thanks

By default the Calendar displays on top & Message Center below after login. It makes sense to start the day with a quick look at the appointments & messages.
Patient Summary displays on top, but if the default is set to bottom; it won’t show up. We find it helpful on top with the clinical note on the bottom because we cross check the Past Medical History & Medications in writing the notes. This layout is also used for incorporating .jpeg files into NationNotes. Unclear why Patient Summary won’t display below.
Some will be full screens, e.g., EOBs & EOB Posting Invoice.
A user generally settles into a rhythm of where to display & when.

Default display position is controlled by the developers in left_nav.
User has two controls to alter that settings - change default dropdown and close top or down frame.
The script does not keep track of what is currently displayed in each pane. So if you are playing around, there is a possibility of schedule being displayed in both frames.
The split frame format worked for monitors of the past. It is not suited for smaller tablet screens or with users more accustomed to tabbed browsers. Elsewhere there are threads that document attempts at using multiple tabs instead of two frames. That will solve most of the issues as you would keep each page open in separate tabs and refresh as needed. But that will take some development effort and learning new tricks.
