What is the best way to use the Inventory application with drug and non-drug related products, where sales tax is factored in? I see a database entry for taxrates in the ‘drug_templates’ table, but don’t see anywhere in the application where it’s an active entry. Also, with this activated, will it allow reporting on the taxes? Thank you!
Tax support is not very mature, so no reporting for it yet. Don’t expect claims generation to do anything sensible with it. Go to Administration -> Lists. There is a “Tax Rate” list which is empty by default. Add one or more entries to it. Then when you add or edit an inventory item, you’ll see a checkbox for each rate.
I was able to add a tax rate and edit an inventory item to include the tax rate. But I don’t see the tax appearing on the Tally Sheet or the Checkout; should it?
