# Insurance smart lookup not working in v7

hi @juggernautsei , in [that thread](https://community.open-emr.org/t/patient-insurance-history-build/17416/21) the smart look up referred to how the insurance is chosen by a `sql` statement .

There’s also this [PR](https://github.com/openemr/openemr/pull/5954).

Demographics insurance display and edit/save will be helped along now that there’s a [date\_end](https://github.com/openemr/openemr/commit/cd84f594681054216540a79c724b38dc11887db4) in the insurance\_data table.
