Hi All,

I have apache and mysql running already.   However, when I run the openEMR setup script, I get as far as filling our the setup form and end up with the error below.

Connecting to MySQL Server…
Warning: mysql_connect() :  No such file or directory (trying to connect via unix:///var/mysql/mysql.sock) in /Library/WebServer/Documents/openemr/setup.php on line 278

Warning: mysql_connect() : No such file or directory in /Library/WebServer/Documents/openemr/setup.php on line 278
ERROR. Check your login credentials.

No such file or directory (#2002)

I would greatly appreciate any clues or tips.

Thanks,
-j

Hi,

I suppose, the error may be due to php-mysql package.  Please check for this library.
Hope this helps.

Do you have apache and mysql running under the Mac OS?   Are you installing the package under your local user directory or using the system hosting directory?

Other areas to review:
did you modify the /etc/apache2/httpd.conf file to include the openemr configuration?  what about the php loadmodule?
did you add the “openemr” config file to …conf.d/openemr ?

The mac configuration requires a few “tweaks” before you run the standard installation.

Hi
I’m having serious problems with my openemr 3.2 installation on Mac OS.
apparently the link to " save patient demographics " DOES NOT WORK!
and i cant save any patient data.
creating a new patient works - just that i cant add more data later on.
I’ve been stuck on this for a whole week now! please help!

I know NOTHING about mac os, or the oer tweaks for it.  There are no docs it seems.

I do have the (probably stupid) suggestion that it might possibly be an issue with required fields.  Have you tried filling out a patient COMPLETELY?
Aside from that, here are the 3.1 installs for Mac.
