Implementation Timeline

Hello OpenEMR community! I’m representing a consulting team working with a medical non-profit on choosing and implementing an EMR for their ophthalmology work. We’re considering OpenEMR and OpenMRS, but would like to know generally speaking how long an ophthalmology build of OpenEMR typically takes to implement, including specific phases (e.g. system and hardware installation, system modification and module creation, staff training, etc.). Any help and insights from your past experiences would be most appreciated.

Cheers,

Alex

The short answer is that ophthalmology is already built into OpenEMR

Not to sound coy, but it only takes hours to implement OpenEMR. There are many things out the box ready to go.

There are no specific hardware requirements other than a machine powerful enough to support the number of users that will be accessing the system via a web browser.
