Hi,
Planning to release a 4.2.0 patch in near future that is only focused on ICD10 fixes. So far, have these two fixes:
Are there any more ICD10 fixes that others know about or critical ICD10 bugs that still need fixing?

The External Data Loads does not seem to be working to update with 2016 data set, as noted here .
It’s not critical because the 2015 set should work for the upcoming transition.

Would be tough to support this kind of thing in a patch (best in a release where old files are removed and new files are added). In the past, Stephen has swooped in yearly to support new ICD10 files in OpenEMR.

Code update is not a show stopper.
Most practices have a core set of about 20 commonly used codes which rarely change from year to year.
If Stephen is too busy, we’ll manage.

Hi,
I was about to release the patch. However, I noted that if I used the following ICD10 code for diagnosis:
G90.519
That the last 9 gets cut off on the HFCA forms (shows “G90 51”) with the above fix:
https://github.com/openemr/openemr/commit/917fd19e059f96abfed28103c24ddde999d0454b
So appears it’s still broken. Thoughts?

Hi,
Disregard above. Turns out needed to set CMS 1500 Paper Form Format to 02/12 format.
Should we make the 02/12 format the default setting in future OpenEMR releases?

Made the same mistake when testing the Indicator box in the 4.2.0 Demo.
08-05 form has been obsolete for the past 2 year, therefore defaulting to 02-12 should be done.

Yes and it should also be the default when no X12 Partner is provided for the payer. I’m pretty sure gen_x12_837.inc.php needs that change.

Unclear how 02/12 format for paper claims affects 837’s.
Does gen_x12_837.inc.php limit the number of characters to 6 as well?

Just ran a test with S05.000XA & 366.16.
Loop 2300 Section HL populated correctly, but decimal point missing in both cases.
Office Ally has never rejected claims because of missing decimal point. By convention the decimal point follows first 3 characters whether ICD-9 or ICD-10. Perhaps it’s not needed.

I beleve that is a counter for the loop allow 12 diagnosis codes if 5010 or 8 if not 5010

Any other line that stipulates the number of characters?
Does not appear to be any problem when 837 generated with S05.000XA, despite the missing decimal point.

The periods are striped per claim standards. they are not wanted. They actually get removed in the claim.class.php program in /library about line 1204

Hello Mark
GEM files and ICD10 order codes can also be found under ‘/contrib/icd10’ folder as zipped files. ICD 10 codes will be in ‘csv’ format inside that zip files.
Thanks
