I just uploaded ICD10 code set into a test box. Added it to lists, set it in the justify column for CPT and disabled ICD9. I then create an encounter. In Fee Sheet I have CPT4 and ICD10. I select one of each but when I try to justify I only get blank and clear as options. If I switch back to ICD9 no problem here.
I know we are not 5010 ready yet but I wanted to start with ICD10 to get a feel as to what is coming.
Have you made any further progress with incorporating ICD-10 codes and 5010 transactions? When do you suspect that we will be able to use this for testing and then billing? Is this a part of MU criteria, or only necessary if we expect to get paid next year? Thanks.
Due to time constraints I did not go further into this. But 5010 Implementation for providers and billers is due for 31 of Dec 2011. This will allow for ICD10 codes which are due in Oct 2013.
I do need to get back into this so Billing/Coding students can have access to ICD-10 Codes.
When I get back to the office I will review my notes and post what I have (not much but it is a start).

Hi Tony,
ICD-10CM implementation date is Oct 1, 2013. The upcoming deadline (Dec 31 2011) is for X12 5010 format. If not implemented for Jan 1 2012 our X12 dies.
