How to send an external file as patient reminder?

Hi Folks-

I’m trying to email a clinic newsletter to patients who have opted in.

I’ve been looking through the documentation and have come up with 2 obstacles.

First, the closest I can find to what I’m looking for is to make a CDR action list and give the opted-in patients a ‘Newsletter problem’ in their history. Then have a Patient Reminder emailed when the Newsletter problem checkup frequency triggers the CDR.

Second, as far as I can tell, the Patient Reminder email messages can only be in text format; I’d like to send a Word .doc (or html?) file with pretty bolded and italicized text and embedded links and graphics.

The system I’m working with is Win 7, OpenEMR 2.1.4 patch5.

Any help?

Thanks in advance; I know there are some good ideas out there.

Hi Harley,

The only email option is one that you mentioned.

Regarding part 2, have a look at Rod’s Template for Patient Documents. 4.1.2-dev is available from the Downloads page.

Hi fsgl-

Thanks much for the tip- I will look at it soonest.

And I hope your Easter was re-vivifying for you, too.
