How are healthcare organisations connecting clinical and operational workflows today?

We’ve been working with healthcare organisations that use multiple systems for patient management, scheduling, CRM, reporting and clinical records.

One common challenge we keep seeing is that data often lives in different applications, making it harder for teams to get a complete operational picture.

We’re interested in hearing how others are approaching this.

  • Are you integrating OpenEMR with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform or other CRM systems?
  • Are you using FHIR or HL7 for interoperability?
  • What has worked well?
  • What would you avoid if starting again?

Looking forward to learning from the community.

I think the healthcare industry in general is leaning heavily towards FHIR for interoperability. The initial driver might be the regulatory push from ONC mandates, but the biggest value for engineers is its web native design. You also get features built for modern application architecture like you can use FHIR Batching for heavy analytical and reporting jobs across systems.
