In openEMR, current functionality of “Home” Button is , without clearing the active patient details, it will load “Message and Reminder Center” and “calender”.
Our plan is, when user clicks the “Home” button, it will clear the active patient details (without reloading all the frames) and send back the UI with it’s initial state.
What should be the expected behavior of this “Home” Button?
Kindly share your views on this to make “Home” Button more efficient.

Yes it is a needed feature but why not add a new button just to the left of " Home" or next to “New patient”? Many users make use of “Home” to get back to their starting screen. And because Starting Screens are located in Globals and Misc Preferences, What if in the future we add new preferences to the preferred users “home” ?
I recommend a new button, called “Clear Active” (or similar) next to the New Patient Button. This should also take the user to the default “Home” .
