I installed OpenEMR in Mint17. Changed the whole program from the default setting to var/www/html/openemr so localhoast/openemr in the webbrowser got me where I wanted to Login. It all works, even the phpMyAdmin opens the tables etc. (after upgrade I have to make the same changes again)
Some tabs of the left menu do not give the correct result.
Calendar gives a blank screen.
Fee sheet give a blank screen and possibly more.
What could have gone wrong or do I need to give write permission as is suggested in the Manual at some place?
If you installed this, it’s not merely the relocation of the web directory to /var/www/html that is causing problems. I installed it in LM 17 but was unable to run the backup utility, so I ended up deleting it. If you are going to install this Ubuntu-Debian package, it must be in LM16 or old versions.
Peruse through Brady’s article to get a sense why he started to have a headache upon hearing about all the changes in Linux.
Would be easier to install the Development package as suggested here in your Github thread. This package may be unstable but it’s compatible with LM17 and comes with json. It will allow you to work with the much sought after Track Anything and Documents Template to boot.
It all started as the Windows XP was not supported. Crash, crash and all my own failure. No others to blame!Than Mint came around. It was safer and easy to handle. Followed by a another crash. Now the Demo is preferred to the V4.1.2… (What version do I need to download to make it work without a hassle in MINT17?, hahahah) => I will find out during the weekend.
I like Mint17 and even get some nice results with wine (for XP-windows programs, but sofar not in luck with Openemr windows appliance or Xampp-OpenEMR in Min17)… but still behind scheme to do what i like to do… seeing clients. But the web version also not HIPAA compliant, is doing a lot of good for my mental support! I learn again to make LBF forms and am almost secure with changes for the print-out of LBF’s.
Tnx also for your support! I will start reading and reading and try what I did not do yet.
Would a simple redirect script from Localhost to the installation file structure do the job?
I know Mint 17 has the Localhost location in: var/www/html
Ubuntu seems to have a different location for the Localhost, so all Ubuntu-Debian versions will be installed in a different directory… is this possible or is this wishful thinking?
This is what I did with Lint Mint 17 . Install openemr-4.1.2 using the tarball. Make sure it is placed in /var/www/html/. Run patch 6.
From emr-backup.tar from which ever OS untar. Transfer openemr.sql to /var/www/html/openemr and run it with " mysql -u root -p openemr < openemr.sql ". Finally transfer the contents of default from the “old backup openemr” to the present at /var/www/html/openemr/sites/default/. Sudo /etc/init.d/mysql restart. And the sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart. I think that is what I did and there was no errors.
Create an empty partition for LM17 with Minitool. Avoid installing the junk with it with careful reading during install.
Install LM17 along side of 7 or XP.
Get everything set up with LM17 (background picture, nice login screen, sync Firefox, set up email client).
Create system image of dual-boot with Macrium and Windows PE Rescue Disk. Again avoid the junk while installing Macrium. The system image is very handy if step 6 becomes difficult. It’s a super easy restore of the dual-boot.
Things are moving faster than expected. Not months of waiting, but days!
So, do steps 1 through 5, which you should anyway.
For step 6, hold off for now. The much anticipated new package has descended into the birth canal and is beginning to crown. See Brady’s post about his new baby. Exciting, huh?
