HCFA 1500 box 25 question

aperezcrespo wrote on Friday, June 12, 2009:

Hi
Where does box 25 get its data from? Facility or User?
How do I get it to use SS or EIN and check the appropriate box?
For example: Provider who bills sometimes as part of a group (EIN) or as an Individual (SS).

Thanks

Hey,

As a current user,  I don’t think Openemr has support for SS Number.  EIN number in box 25 is from Facility not User.

See <openemr>/librrary/gen_hcfa_1500.inc.php

For more info, look at line

// 25. Federal Tax ID Number

in that file.

Thats what I thought.  So I created a new facility and used the SS in place of the EIN but it still pulled up the EIN from the first facility.  Even though I used that new second facility when creating an encounter.
Should it not use the new second Facilities EIN if the encounter takes place at that Facility?

Thanks

Hey,

That’s because you must assign only one facility as “biilling location” by checking the “biilling location” box in the facility editing menu.

If you choose both facilities as billing facilities then the EIN of the 1st facility will be chosen as default.

Hi
Ah it’s the little details in life that get you.   Seeing a humming bird for the first time, the first blossom in spring or after 10 minutes you see there is no paper on the roll.

Obvious solution: Multiple installs for now.

Thanks
