we are getting this error intermittently, we are getting this while posting payments to patients account. it works fine for a while and then it gives us this error.

I looked up the permissions on this and it is 755 and the owner is www-data and the group is www-data.

I am running openemr 4.1.1 on ubuntu. This was never a problem before.

Forbidden You don’t have permission to access /openemr/interface/billing/new_payment.php on this server.

any idea why I am getting this error?

Having not sure on the exact problem, just please re-check the below -

  1. Check permission for the file is 755 again.
  2. Check apache user belongs to www-data or apache and make sure group/user is apache to the files and its directories
  3. make sure selinux is disabled
  4. Check “Options”, “AllowOverride All” and “Allow from all” tags in the httpd.conf or .htaccess for the specific apache directory

Share the tail of apache error log to know more on the issue.
