Does anyone else think that the History items, such as Family History, should be displayed in a widget/widgets on the Patient Summary page? As is, the information is available, but it is buried.

My personal view is I don’t need it, but it would be great to have it as a Click-option on the screen.
Something like, “O… YES What happened in the family…”
It happens for me about three times a month and make use of this information to have better results for my client.
Sometimes I forget to ask about the connection with the family when I should, and sometimes it even makes things worse to ask about the family related Issues.

The Family History of Glaucoma and Age-related Macular Degeneration is elicited on a routine basis.
In Pediatrics it is more important to be cognizant of the Family History or even to construct a pedigree when a child presents with a constellation of unusual symptoms.
The only time I look in History/Family History is data entry and rarely do I refer to it again because it is in an out of the way place. Additionally it would be simpler to enter the disease and the relative in a new section in the Patient Summary where it would be more visible. Now other relatives cannot be readily accommodated in History.
To add a section to the Patient Summary, it is easier in 4.1.2(1) than in 4.1.1(14). This is almost a reason to upgrade, if it has not been done already. See this thread for specifics. In fact, I will do this, myself.
