I want to validate the external ID field in patient demographics to accept only numbers. Where and in which file, i need to do the changes. Thanks in advance.

Hello EMR USER

For this patient External ID field, there is masking available in the administration globals section. You can restrict that field to only accpet numbers by putting ‘#’ into the field 'Administration->Globals->Features->Mask for Patient IDs ’ and saving it. We can also decide how many digits to accept by putting that numbert of ‘#’ into that field.
