Hey,
Please specify which version of openemr ? and do you use multiple printing or print 4 panels?
I have an other question. Anybody out there uses openemr for writing prescriptions and do you enter drug database manually or download from some source? if so how do we import the data?
Thanks.

Bo,
I am running version 3.0.1 on Ubuntu 8.04. I am trying to print up to 4 prescriptions on 1 sheet 8.5X11. I am not sure of the difference between 4 panels and multiple printing.
Regarding your question there are some drugs in the database, however, anything that is not there we have been adding it manually so far.
Thanks for your help!

Mark,
printing prescriptions seems to give rise to recurring questions.
Printing four panel recipe give me a sheet of A4 or Letter with one to four separate prescriptions, than I have to look for a scissor and cut them into A6 prescriptions. Multi print gives me another option, but not the one I am looking for.
Printing recipe with Rx and with CAMOS do not work to give same results in my versions of OpenEMR 3.0.0 and 3.0.1 and I got the impression that these two roads towards printing recipe are different with different input and different output possibilities.(at least the way my OpenEMR is configured)
My question is:
I am used to print about four to six prescriptions on an A6 size paper. How can this be changed? Or is it just a matter of changing some lines in some of the *.php files.
Some time ago it was mentioned that activating in house dispensary of druggs would give a complete usable list of druggs. (If imported in the MySQL tables) These lists can be downloaded from some Internet site suitable to ones own region. With the help of some changes in a spreadsheet these druggs can be down/uploaded into OpenEMR.
How can we create a Druggs Prescription manual with the help and knowledge used in OEMR Community?

Mark,
For clarification, the 4 panel printing (4 separate prescriptions on 1 sheet of 8x11 page) was created by the author of CAMOS for printing prescriptions written for CAMOS, but lately in version 4, it also supports for printing from prescription list (outside of CAMOS). But this option only print 1 prescription for each panel, and as Pimm pointed out that you need to use scissor to cut out each prescription.
Currently, multiple printing allows for printing multiple medications on 1 page, but only 3 medications on one page at a time. There are ways to modify the prescription to print more medications per page. I have modify it to print more than 3 up to 8 or more medications per page with extensive modifications. However, I have not use it for now because. I have issue with the way that prescription handle printing and faxed. At this moment, the only way I can fax a prescription is one medication at a time!!! only after I save the prescription. This is very strange setup. That why I am asking if anyone else is using the prescription module at this time, and how they work around this short coming. I will work on a modification to make prescription printing and faxing more friendlier (if time permits).
Look at this threat for more info:

If you need my modifications for multiple printing that print up to 8 or more medications, let me know.
You can change the paper size, just look at file:
/openemr/includes/config.php
Good luck,

Mark,
I just upload to the sample file to print 8 medications on 1 letter size page.
/openemr/controllers/C_Prescription.class.php
look in the Tracker/patches section of this page. See link:

Hope it helps,
Pimm,
If you need help with modification to print A6 size paper, let me know.
I think you need to make a lot of changes to make it work. I don’t know how comfortable you are with the modifications.
Good luck,
Bo,
