Error opening EMR session

I am trying to help a very small mission clinic in Honduras obtain a medical records system. I have been trying to get OpenEMR 5.0.0 installed. I am also using XAMPP 7.0.27 running on Windows 10.

This clinic is very small and will be running on a laptop computer. I managed to get OpenEMR to open one time and was able to log in as admin. However, now when I try to go back into OpenEMR, I get the error message “side ID is missing from session data”.

I have search through various documents, but, haven’t found a fix, that I could understand.

  1. What can I do/change to repair this error?

  2. Is there a way to “clear” the error so I can open the application again.

edit: openemr 5.0.0 runs on php < 7.1 so you should be good there, you might want to start over by downloading the preinstalled OpenEMR and XAMPP, https://www.open-emr.org/wiki/index.php/OpenEMR_Downloads#Windows:

Thanks for the quick response. That seemed to do the trick and was much easier. I think I am good on this issue, but, I’m sure there will be others once they start to look at the application.
