I am asking does anyone in the group have experience with eMDs? I have an inquiry and that is the current system that they are using. The physician has about 1200+ records in that software.

You might want to ask your eMDs vendor what happens when/if you stop paying your support fee. Some years ago, there was an issue with obtrusive banners reminding you to renew support. I get eMDs confused with eCW; one of them actually became “read-only” when support was not paid. This abhorrent business model does not exist in open source software.

Given a piece of software as mission critical as an EMR, I can’t imagine going without a support subscription. However, if the software will go Read-Only if it is not renewed, that should be made very clear up front.
