Electronic Encounter / Superbill

Hi All,

I had a great question from Dr. East. He wanted to know why is the Encounter / Superbill still being printed then manually entered into the system. He wanted to know is it possible to pull up the Encounter / Superbill for the current patient and check it off while in the room and the information goes right into the billing module?

Does this exist in version 3 or 4?

Yes, the functionality exists.

The billing module is quite advanced in 4.0. There is an electronic fee sheet that can be filled at every service point that automatically updates the client bill. This fee sheet reflects all billable products and services configured for the facility. Very easy to use too.

Payments can also be made at any point, during, before or after encounter. This electronic fee sheet is also available in v3.2.

The manual fee sheet (printout) is still retained for these later versions.

Could you point me to instruction on how to access it in both version 3.2 and 4.0. We are currently running 3.2.

Before you access the electronic Fee Sheet in both versions, you need an active patient (activate existing client or create new) and an active encounter (reopen a previous encounter or create new). You can then either:

1.  Navigate to Fees>Fee Sheet on the left navigation menu at any time in either version.

or

2.  In 4.0, on the encounter summary page at the top of the lower pane, click on Administrative>Fee Sheet.

3.  In 3.2-I am using online demo-: On the left of the encounter summary page, Click on the “category” drop-down menu and select “Fee Sheet”

For Products and services to appear on the fee sheet, they must be entered, configured/categorized using “Lists”, “Services” “Inventory Management”  etc. Other codes like ICD9 and CPT appear automatically in case you have a relevant code-centric billing arrangement.

The IPPF user guide found in Documentation folder of the 4.0 version gives further details on the fee sheet and many other functionalities, very useful to go through.
