E-Visits Patient Portal

Guys

I have been getting more and more requests to include e-visits through the patient portal.  And I was wondering if someone here could give and expert opinion of how it can be done.

My idea is as follows:

In the mailbox in the portal, the patient can select a category “e-visit” and post his question. 
On the provider OpenEMR, this should be converted to an encounter (after approval of course) when the provider responds to this request.

Is it as simple as I made it out to be???
