Displaying PID on demo sheet

I am trying to display pid on the patients demographics sheet but when I do it won’t let me add a new patient because it says I am duplicating pid.

Hi Tammy,

What version of OpenEMR are you running. I have 5.0.1.4 and if I leave the external ID field blank when creating a new patient it displays what I believe is the patient ID in the demographics tab.

Thanks. I thought that was an open text field.
