Dispense drugs

I am using OpenEMR 3.2.0. I have the pharmacy module enabled, and I have a fully populated drug inventory. I can prescribe using the in-house pharmacy module, but the action button says only “Save”, it does not say “Save and Dispense.”

This problem is not new with 3.2. I had the same problem when using 3.1.

The prescription is added to the patient’s record and it prints out correctly. However, the inventory amount is not decremented. Nor does the dispensed drug show up on the patient’s fee sheet.

2 questions:

1. How can I get the prescription to decrement inventory?
2. Is there any way that the prescription can be automatically added to the patient’s fee sheet?

(I recognize that this could be done manually by populating the fee sheet list with drugs, but I would rather avoid this if I can.)

Thanks for your help!

I have also notice that next to the “Save” button, it says "prescription has reached its limit of 0 refills. "

This alert is always there, and is independent of the number of refills which have been entered.

I hope someone can help me with this.

I just checked in two fixes (to the rel-320 branch and tip) related to this:

* library/classes/Prescription.class.php
* templates/prescription/general_edit.html

Thanks to docaltmed for sponsoring this!

In case anyone is wondering, Rod is *way cool* and rode in to the rescue with no advance notice. The fix totally worked.

Dear Rod,

I thought this fix would have been included in version 4.1.1.  I am using an in-house pharmacy.  Prescriptions are printed normally but there is no way of indicating that the drugs are dispensed neither is the inventory amount decremented.  I am using Ubuntu Debian package version 4.1.1 with Patch 8. Is there anything I need to do to activate the dispensing/decremental function?

Dear Rod,

Please ignore my last post.  Found the “Save and Dispense”. Missed it before as I was expecting the “Dispense” button on the list/add Prescription form which now allows more than one drug per prescription.

i have the same problem using version 4.1.1 and patch 10, but the list -select from inventory- doesn’t work, and so there is no decrement from the inventory.
please any help .

ooh, it 's a pitty that there is nowhere any answer to the problem of inventory decrement in prescription.
i had to uninstall for many times because of this problem and not using open emr. why if there is a module, there is no support for it.
