Brady,

Is the Developer Appliance package an opensource project unto itself? I would like to review it without installing it … AND I must admit I havn’t even downloaded it because of its size …

Said differnetly, is there a forum for Developer Appliance?

hey,

I’m out of town, so need to be brief. The forum for the ‘Developer Appliance’. That appliance was built with two functions in mind:
1) Create cvs demos (the current cvs demos on the wiki use this)
2) Create a cvs developer environment.

It’s licensed via GPL in the brief manual (note below manual is in all the Developer Appliances including the cvs demos):
http://opensourceemr.com:2089/manual.txt

The only real installing is done to install the ‘Vmware Player’. These appliances (also includes the official ‘OpenEMR Appliance’ avaliable here and at bradymd.com/appliance) are self-contained and do not need to be installed. You simply download them, unpackage them, and then run them via the ‘Vmware Player’.

My advice is to just download it and try it out. Considering we now have something called broadband on the internet, and hard drives are all now 500GB plus, the size should not be an issue.  Linux is beckoning you…
