Deprecating documentation

Hello all,

In the nicest way possible I want to say OpenEMR documentation has a problem.  Especially now that there are some new references, I propose moving deprecated docs into a Documentation/old directory.

Maybe creating a README_FIRST file in the Documentation directory that would contain the URL to the wiki page http://www.oemr.org/modules/wiwimod/ .

Open Source developers are used to having current documentation packaged with the source.  From a timing and updating perspective I can see why OEMR has docs posted on the wiki.  I think that needs to be spelled out for new people.

Example:
Documentation/User_Documentation.pdf is very old
Documentation/instruction-manual-032205.pdf is very old
(wiki) OpenEMR_3.0_Users_Guide.pdf is wonderful and new

All three have the same purpose.

Thanks,
Scott

hey,

Just to be more complete in the response. Hopefully we’ll get the manual out with each official release for now on; the last manual is awesome but came after the official release.  We’ve removed the old redundant documentation from the future openemr releases.
