Could someone detail the OpenEMR database format for a medical code system.
Could a DB naming convention be established for the following code systems?
- SNOMED CT
- RxNorm
- ICD9-CM
- ICD10-CM
- CPT-4
- LOINC
- HCPCS
- HL7
- CVX
These coding systems required for MU #s 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13, 18,. 19, 20, 21, 23, 24 25
Thanks

The code_types table describes the attributes of each coding system.  It is managed via Administration -> Lists -> Code Types.

Does that help?

We have a new Volunteer that will take on understanding the MU needs for these coding data sets how they can comfortably be fit into OpenEMR structure.   His name is Mark Harrow.    I’m getting him up to speed so I’ll send him this timely note …

Excellent Tony, Welcome Mark.
Suggestion:
Obtain free license for NIH NLM UMLS (Unified Medical Language System), from which many (all?) of these coding systems can be ETL’d into OpenEMR format.   NLM is the U.S. licensee for SNOMED CT,  the author of RxNorm, and aggregator of ICD-9-CM, LOINC, etc.  Here’s a link for ETL’ing code sets from UMLS to MySQL: http://search.cpan.org/~btmcinnes/UMLS-Interface-0.07/Docs/INSTALL.pod
Thanks
