I plan on making a customization for our office soon and wanted to know what is the best way to organize it for ease of transition with future OpenEMR upgrades. Is there a recommended directory for customized modules?
If the intent is to contribute something to the project that is not of general interest, the “contrib” directory is probably best. There is also the “custom” directory which is the place to put things that the site is likely to want to change. But these are just conventions and there’s nothing in the upgrade procedures that gives these areas any special attention.
