We just attempted to send a test claim to the Clearing house, Office Ally.
Apparently I am doing something wrong. The encounter is coded for ICD-10, but
rejected
errors LC1761 - Payer does not Accept ICD-9 Diagnosis Codes for this DOS.
Has anything been put out on how to do this correctly?? I am sure there is
something in the “background” I am not doing correctly?
October 1, 2014 is the date that all carriers must use ICD-10 codes. Not everyone is ready to accept these new codes as of today. Suggest a call be put into Office Ally Customer Service 866-575-4120 option 1. Have the File ID # ready. 11 am to 2 pm PST is the busiest for them.
We checked we Office Ally today. It appears our system is working fine. The reason we got the error is because they are not accepting ICD-10 codes yet.
Most clearinghouses wont accept the codes until 10/1, but they all have testing environments for vendors. I’m on top of the Availity/Gateway testing, so assuming both of those test well, it will work for all clearinghouses.
