We are getting this error when viewing the log in the billing manager.
We have been unable to find any reference to a CMS ID for insurance companies.
Why is this still in the system?
If I correctly recall isn’t the CMSID the equipment of NPI for insurance companies.
I saw that link somewhere but was not sure if it is real. I will check it out and find out.
I think we will go with that because I looked up AARP and they have an NPI number. We should relabel that so it is not a mystery.

the cms id field is most likely empty, it’s more commonly called the payer id
You can usually get them from your Clearinghouse payor list.
So it is not the NPI number?
No it is the equivalent of the NPI for an Insurance company.

Look at the Payor ID Column.

Are you sure that QDI Bill mnemonic for insurance companies isn’t what you’re after. I knows some labs require it for insurance billing.
