Change translations within openEMR

Developers Question: How difficult would it be to make a change of Language from within OEMR?

Explanation:
I am using Dutch as a default language. Sometimes I relate to certain parts of OEMR but have no clue of what the translation/programmer wants me to do. Could be a mistake due to Google Spreadsheet translations or just a difference in interpretation of medical professionals and used words or abbreviations.

But I also have some Chinese speaking clients who don’t know much about Spanish, English, Dutch and I have sometimes to make use of veterinarian medicine, since there is no interpreter available. On the other hand sometimes I can use the Chinese translation. It is hard to find your way in OEMR clicking on signs that don’t give a clue of what I am doing. I can’t understand nor read Chinese.

If you want to give it a try, make use of the dummy language. It is good for the purpose, but hard to find the right part what needed a check for translation.

Most of the times, if my Chinese client reads the question in Chinese, I get the right response in broken sign or local language.

I tried a partial translation table, but this seems not to give the correct solution. While toggle between English, Dutch, Chinese Simple might give a result that is workable as a solution for my use of OEMR. This might also be an extra feature for Greek, Russian, Vietnamese and others, who have problems with many tourists not able to speak local language nor English.

Hi,
Wouldn’t be that tough to place this in Administration->Globals since a Save here will refresh all the frames. However to enable the ability of doing this anywhere would be a bit more complicated, but doable (it would mean all the frames would need to be updated when changed. (thoughts would be to place a selector in the title screen and then refresh the frames when change it). Would be a good learning project for somebody, if anybody is interested.

Changing in Admin => Globals will not solve the problem,** unless the user is directed straight back** to the same frame.

Another option could be just change translations for the frame being used, but for me as a non-programmer this sounds as an even worse scenario and rather complicated solution for the programmer.

For me as a user this last option is something like a miracle.

Sidestep:  I can remember in any language where certain mouse clicks are situated and what should not be clicked (like delete in persons demographics I learned it the hard way). But digging in further and remember every page and where to Click is to much. One translation Button as a popup or standard in every page (Crazy thought?) would be awesome……………… We could even delete the dummy language in the Google spreadsheet.
