Change Date of Encounters

I usually use the speech dictation form and copy/paste my templates, op notes, documentation of calling in an order or rx, or referral letter to the MD. Sometimes I use the SOAP template. I don’t bill with OpenEMR so I fill out and scan a paper superbill which eventually gets faxed or securely emailed to my billing company.

I don’t always do my note or scan in the superbill on the same day I saw the patient. I’d like to have the documents in the system coincide with a/the date of service and not on random dates when I chart.

How do I make it so that the dates of the documents/encounters (listed in the dates column of the encounters option) are the dates of service, rather than when I typed or scanned in the document?

Well I found the little calendar icons you can click on and re-set the date for anything uploaded.

I also notice for an encounter if I set both the date of encounter and the date of hospitalization (or something like that) on the chief complaint page then the date of the encounter gets set to the date I wanted it to.
