Cannot login after install

I finally successfully installed the script (v2.8.1) but I am encountering 2 problems.

1) First I am not sure which password to use. During the install, the only time I was asked to set a password was “the login password for when PHP accesses MySQL”. I was asked to choose a user’s name for the ‘Initial User’ , but no password was asked to be set here (no available space for it).
2) The help file that came with the script says: “…The main login screen should be the first screen to come up in the Internet browser. That screen will have a box with a pull down menu labeled group.” Mine has no ‘pull down menu’ as it is the case with the demo site (wich seems to be running OpenEMR v2.8.0)

I tried to type the “Initial User’s” name and the password I mentioned above. I can’t log in.
Is something missing here?

The initial password is ‘pass’ (without the quotes).

The group drop-down appears now only if there are multiple groups.

Maybe this should be a FAQ or displayed somewhere. I was also with this problem.

We added the info at the end of the final installation page.
