I am having trouble printing from OpenEMR when using Internet Explorer 10 and Chrome (Version 28.0.1500.72 m) but I can print from Firefox Version 22.0. All PCs are running Windows 7 with the latest updates. The widow pops up like its sending the print job then disappears. please advise.

See Sam Bowen’s explanation on 4/10/11 as to why Firefox is the preferred browser.

Describe in detail the printing attempts with the other browsers.

Was it possible to print from the other browsers previously?

What is the reason to use all 3 browsers for printing instead of just Firefox?

It worked fine for about a year in IE the I had printing problem so I switched to Chrome and it worked for about 6 months then I started having the same problem in Chrome. It used to work if I just rebooted the PC but that seems to have stopped also. I did not know that FF was the preferred or i would have started with that first. I will try FF and see how it Goes.

I use Firefox primarily and Chrome from time to time. However, browser release cycles are rather short these days, so OpenEMR testing lags considerably behind browser updates.

I can say definitively that IE is always going to have the worst support as many of the most active developers don’t use Windows at all.

Is it printing from a “Print” button somewhere, “Print Page” or just anything you print from any site anywhere? Is it one printer involved? Can you try to print to a file?
