I’ve been playing around with a local installation and am wondering why is the project using the wrong graphic/symbol?

I guess we will welcome any nicer and historically/mithologically accurate suggestion as long as is including the finished art with it.

The original OpenEMR was written by a bunch of software guys with little or no physician input.

The current symbol bugs me as well.  It just seemed that we had bigger fish to fry than this particular symbol.

But, remember.  Not all of the clinicians using OpenEMR are physicians.  I know of physical therapists, chiropracters, and podiatrists who are interested in using OpenEMR or currently using it.  (But since the caduceus is really a symbol of commerce perhaps these practioners might prefer the staff of Aesculapius as well).

I would be glad to include an appropriate staff of Aesculapius.  This image may need to selectable since other practice styles may prefer the caduceus.

If you would like a particular image used forward it to me.

Just for clarification, a Doctor of Chiropractic is a physician.
