When we try and printout the HCFA 1500 forms box 21, which contain the diagnosis, are blank. The medical problem is filled and connected to each date of service.
Any help will be appreciated.

The diagnosis codes that print on the HCFA 1500 or x12 files need to be entered separately from the problems list for each encounter. You have to search for and add the codes you want in the fee sheet interface for them to show up in billing files.

That is simply idiotic. What is the sense in having the medical problem list and attaching them to each date. This just doesn’t make sense. What a waste of time, having to enter the diagnosis on each visit.

Certain types of cases such as Workman’s Compensation require you to maintain the exact same diagnosis. If you accidentally enter the wrong diagnostic code they will deny all treatment, not only that date but the entire case. It can take months of litigation to have it re approved. This is critical for any Workmans Comp or Personal Injury case. Minimally the program must be made to regenerate the diagnosis.
