Hi,
I clicked on the backup under administration and got the message install TAR.php. I searched the forum and it is not on any forum. Any light would be great.
Thanks

It appears you are on a Windows computer. You need to install the “pear tar.php” module. That will allow the copy and compression commands to work. Pear is the name for a collection of supplementary modules to PHP. I don’t think it is that hard to do, but you will have to find out how, since I don’t know. Take a look at http://pear.php.net/package/Archive_Tar

I can’t believe that this was written three years ago. I still don’t have this working. I have installed Pear and when I click the backup link in the menu it goes to a blank screen.
Has anyone gotten this working on a windows server?
It works fine on a linux server. That is what brought me back to it again. The Archive_Tar is installed.

Does the problem persist if the Package had been installed?
I’ve never had a backup problem with any of the Windows Packages.
It’s the restore of emr_backup.tar that caused consternation.

I have always used WAMP not XAMPP. So I do not know. I know that it does not work with WAMP install.

Do have a error message you are getting that you can post?

Developers may think it’s not virile to use the XAMPP package, but wimpy may be better than a 3 going on 4 year long unresolved issue.
