Automatic import of lab results

I am trying to set up HL7 integration with a local interface engine. I can create a procedure order and submit that to a local folder. However, my results are not being read in from the folder I configured for the provider. I tried manually uploading the HL7 ORU under “Electronic Reports” and it said “Upload processed successfully” - so my HL7 seems to be valid but I still don’t see it appear anywhere - where should it show up and how can I debug this?

Alright, I managed to get the result to show up if I manually upload it. It is still not being picked up from my local folder though. Any thoughts?

The Procedures module will only work for manual results input unless Quest or Labcorp service has been purchased.

Standard package is set to fetch results from provider’s SFTP server. Obviously you are getting HL7 results from a non-sftp source. If you want to import results without changing the package, you should set up a local SFTP server and route the results files through its ‘out’ directory. “Procedures”->“Electronic Reports” will trigger a fetch operation everytime for all providers with protocol set to ‘SFTP’.

Though it would be impractical and prone to transcription errors, you can enter results manually any time after order is created.

Seha Cloud had a question about manual entry of labs recently. Because the configuration steps are easily forgotten, a Wiki article was written to avoid the embarrassment of senior moments.
