I am looking at the possibility of adding a Forum, with sections for Medical/Patients etc.
One with a compatible API which allows same login for forum & site simutaneously.
e.g. when logged into one they are logged into other too!

I am talking about installing a medical support forum on my site that through an API, automatically recognizes the openemr logged in client. Possibly with a “Forum” button under the “Miscellaneous” one in left side menu.(Opening in new tab of course)

Ok, so if you run a separate instance of apache then you could look into openid and implement a single sign on approach. Check out http://openid.net/
